Our new Year 7 pupils went off on their first action packed trip together to Longridge Activity Centre in Marlow on Monday 5 September.
After a short coach journey, during which new friendships were already being formed, they couldn’t wait to get stuck into the various activities on offer, from laser tag to dragon boating and the aptly named ‘Giant Swing’.
After bad weather warnings got everyone packing their wet weather gear they got off lightly with some short showers around lunchtime followed by a brilliant sunny afternoon that had everyone smiling. The pupils all put in great effort and took away new practical skills, happy stories and a sense of familiar community in the year group.
“This activity and team building day is now a much loved part of our Year 7 induction programme,” said Ms Sellars, Head of Lower School. “The pupils get to know each other, work together on problem solving and group activities as well as discovering and testing their own boundaries with the encouragement of their peers. They make long-lasting memories and friendships that will last throughout their time with us at Latymer and beyond.”
