On Thursday, 11 November, the whole school came together at 11am in the piazza to mark Remembrance Day.
The piazza fell into a rare but meaningful stillness as a two minute silence was observed by pupils from the Prep and Upper Schools. Sixth Former, Oscar performed a moving rendition of the ‘Last Post’ and ‘Rouse’.
Over recent years, pupils have undertaken a number of different projects around Remembrance. Last year, for example, students researched the stories of Latymerians who lost their lives in World War Two, uncovering over 160 unique narratives.
This year, as they have done in previous years, student filled in their ‘I choose to remember’ cards with the name of a Latymerian from the Roll of Honour in the Main Hall, which commemorates those who lost their life in WWI.
We will remember them.
