Latymer’s Girls ski team wins bronze!

Congratulations to Latymer’s girls ski team who returned with two Bronze medals from this year’s British Schoolgirls Races (BSR), held in the French ski resort of Flaine!

Latymerians Juliette, Ruby and Pascale were one of 54 teams from 38 schools in what was a very competitive arena. To prepare for the races, the three girls trained in London last term (cheered on by Miss Cole for one of the sessions) as well as two full days onsite over the weekend before the races which took place in the first week of February. The girls skied in two slaloms and two giant slalom each.

The team won bronze medals in the following races:

• Latymer Upper, 3rd place, unregistered teams category, in slalom

• Latymer Upper, 3rd place, unregistered teams category, in combined

To podium as a team in the unregistered category is a fantastic achievement. The challenging slalom saw 18 girls disqualified for missing a gate or falling in the first run. Latymer’s team skied confidently and finished all their races with decent times and no disqualifications. Well done Team Latymer!
