Latymer Upper School Students Attend French Debating Competition

Our A Level French students recently participated in the annual Central London French Debating Competition at St Paul’s Girls’ School.

Our two teams of Lower Sixth students – Emilia, Lois, Rowan, Eleanor and Myriam – competed against several other London schools, utilising their French and debating skills. They tackled challenging arguments, debating set motions such as the use of AI in schools, urban sprawl, and the question of alliance with the Roman Empire in Asterix comic books.

Their hard work and preparation were evident in their impressive performances on the night, and Ms Bara-Taylor from our Modern Languages Department says, ‘They embraced the experience with enthusiasm. It was great to see them handle the pressure so well and enjoy the experience.’

A massive congratulations goes to all students and staff involved!
