Over the May Bank Holiday, Latymer Upper School U6th student Leo was selected as part of the Under 19 Team to race for Great Britain at the Munich International Regatta. This event is the first opportunity for the Under 19 Team to race and represent Great Britain this season and see where they compare to the other leading nations in Europe.
Over the two days, Leo raced in two boat combinations, the Junior Mens VIII and Junior Men’s Coxless IV’s. Leo, along with crew mates from Radley College, St Edwards School, Westminster School, Shiplake College and Hampton School were victorious in all 3 events, winning gold twice in the VIII and in the coxless IV.
John Layng, Under 19 GB Rowing Team Manager said, “This was a superb weekend of racing during which all the rowers learned much about themselves and gained valuable experience from the high standard of competition. This included top German composite and club crews as well as representatives of other European teams.
Huge congratulations to Leo!
