Last weekend Upper and Lower Sixth form Art and Art History students embarked on an enriching three-day study trip to Berlin, Germany. The visit was packed with cultural and historical experiences, offering students a deeper understanding into the city’s artistic and architectural significance.
The trip began with a guided tour of Museum Island, where students explored the Alte Nationalgalerie before settling in for dinner near the historic Berlin Wall. On the second day, students visited the Jewish Museum, designed by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, before heading to the Berlinische Galerie. Later, they toured the Reichstag building, where they encountered a poignant reminder of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which ocurred earlier this week, on the steps of the German Parliament. The final day featured a visit to the Neue Nationalgalerie where students immersed themselves in modern art. The trip concluded at the AEG Turbine Factory, where two Art History students shared fascinating insights into its historical significance.
The trip was a massive success, creating lifelong memories for all our students. A big thank you to everyone involved.
