Our students and staff had a successful Easter Classics trip through the heart of Ancient Greece. Their journey began at the Agora, the marketplace and central meeting place for ancient Athenians and continued with visits to the Agora Museum, Temple of Hephaestus, and a view of the Acropolis. They also explored the Parthenon, the Theatre of Dionysus, The Propylaea at the Acropolis, the Erechtheion, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Acropolis Museum, where they learnt about the Elgin Marbles.
The students also visited Delphi, the Athens Archaeological Museum, the sanctuary at Olympia, Mycenae, Corinthia, and Epidaurus, which is renowned for its healing sanctuary, theatre and stadium.
The trip really was an amazing opportunity for all of our students. Underpinned, of course, by the lovely weather and the good food! It is an annual educational adventure that rotates between Sicily, Rome, and Athens, enriching our students’ study of Latin, Greek, and Classical Civilization.
