Latymer Upper School marked Children’s Mental Health Week with a range of activities designed to promote well-being and self-care among our students.
The week kicked off with tutor group discussions, where students explored the concept of emotional well-being and support in relation to this year’s theme, ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself’. Their reflections were transformed into impactful slogans, which were displayed digitally throughout the school.
Each year group attended assemblies led by the school’s pastoral and counselling team, providing valuable insights into the topic of wellbeing. Additionally, the school’s librarians hosted an informal talk on helpful books, offering students reading recommendations focused on mindfulness and self-care. Other highlights of the week included visits from Lola the beloved therapy dog and a pizza making night organised by our pastoral team.
The School’s Academic Mentoring Department also organised a variety of creative and relaxing activities, including a LEGO challenge, pebble painting, mindfulness exercises, and a movie night, all aimed at helping students unwind.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed—not just to making Children’s Mental Health Week a success, but for their ongoing commitment to supporting students every day.
