Head of Boats appointed at Latymer Upper School

We are delighted to announce that Nick Laws has been appointed to the position of Head of Boats at Latymer Upper School’s Boat Club (LUSBC).

Nick joined Latymer Upper School in 2019 as Assistant Head of Rowing having previously worked at Shrewsbury School, The Windsor Boys’ School and Norwich School. During his time as Assistant Head of Boats he managed the Year 11 squad establishing it to be the largest Year 11 squad in the country. Under his tenure, the squad won medals at the National Schools Regatta in the Boys and Girls J16 Championship VIIIs, made the final at Henley Women’s Regatta and gained selection to the GB v France Match.

“After a rigorous interview process, Nick came top of a very strong field to achieve this well-deserved promotion,” said Natalie Maclean, Latymer’s Director of Sport. “We really feel that with his passion, expertise and motivation, he is in a great position to take LUSBC forwards. Nick has already shown great promise in his approach and ways of working. We very much look forward to moving to the next stage in the LUSBC journey and we congratulate him on achieving this position in an already successful and forward-thinking boat club.”

Of his appointment, Nick has said: “Latymer Upper School has one of the most dynamic and exciting rowing programmes in the country. I’m looking forward to building on the Club’s strong foundation and reputation, and providing the opportunity for all Latymerians to fulfil their potential.”
