Ski Trip 2023

58 pupils from Years 8, 9 and 10 travelled to the Italian resort of Sestriere over February half term for the Latymer Ski Trip 2023.

The weather and conditions were perfect and everyone had a great week.

“This is the first time since 2020 that the trip has been able to run and everyone was really looking forward to it!” said Director of Sport, Mrs Maclean, who led the trip. “It was an amazing week and everyone got on so well and really made the most of the trip.”

All ability levels, from complete beginner to advanced, were catered for and with 4 hours of ski instruction per day everyone made lots of progress throughout the week. On the last day the whole group got together on the slopes for a final ski.

The group stayed at the hotel Uappala, which has an enviable location in the resort, offering doorstep skiing into the centre of Sestriere as well as the ‘Milky Way’, offering plenty of skiing for both beginners and advanced groups.

As well as the fun on the slopes, students also enjoyed some apres ski with a visit to an ice rink, a treasure hunt, a disco and bingo.
