We’re bowled over by our new Girls’ Cricket coach, Piya Yadav

We are delighted to welcome cricket pro, Piya Yadav, to our Sports Department as our new Girls’ Cricket Coach this term .

Piya’s love of the game grew from the moment she started playing cricket at school and  developed as she joined her local club.

It was through her local club that she was nominated for Middlesex Cricket trials. “The pride I felt in representing my county through the age groups, as well as training alongside other elite female athletes are some of my most fond memories,” says Piya.

By the age of 18, she had already acquired her Level 2 Coaching badge. She puts her success down to the diversity of experiences she had with county age group squads, schools and clubs which she feels has  been tremendously important in developing her as a coach. “I look forward to not only passing down my knowledge, but also expanding my capabilities at Latymer,” says Piya.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have a player and coach of Piya’s calibre join our team,” said Natalie Maclean, Latymer Upper School’s Director of Sport. “She is our first female cricket professional and the perfect choice to be our first girls’ specific cricket coach. Her love of the game is inspiring and is already having a positive impact on our students. We’ve got an exciting season ahead of us and she’s joined us at a great time as sports open up again after a long period of lockdown.”
