Pupil Absence

Every pupil is expected to attend school punctually and regularly and not be absent from classes without permission.

Permission to be absent during term time will only be granted in exceptional circumstances, e.g. on compassionate grounds. In such an instance parents should apply, in good time, to the Head, either by letter or via e-mail to head@latymer-upper.org.

Term dates are published on the website so that parents can ensure that family holidays do not impinge on term time.

When a pupil is absent through illness, parents must contact the School before 8.30am on each day of absence. This should be by e-mail to absence@latymer-upper.org, copying in the form tutor, or by telephoning the School Nurse on 0203 004-0299.

Where an absence lasts for five or more consecutive school days, a doctor’s certificate will be required.

Notice of medical or dental appointments should be sent well in advance to absence@latymer-upper.org, again copying in the form tutor.
