Latymer success at Model United Nations Conference

Congratulations to the eight Latymerians who participated in this year’s Model United Nations Conference, held at Croydon High School on Saturday 19 November.

More than 300 delegates from twenty-eight schools across the UK took part in this lively event in which the delegates (pupils) are placed in committees and assigned countries that they then represent in debate on topics such as; protecting religious diversity in the Middle East, institutionalised violence against women, protecting civilians in the conflict in South Sudan, and the Zika virus

Our Latymerians represented Spain and Jamaica and both Tristan Pahl and Aliya Ismagilova were named as "Outstanding Delegate" in their individual committees (both pupils also won similar awards at last year's conference). Additionally, several members of staff from other schools commented on how eloquently all our Latymerians spoke in their debates. Our delegates included: Remi Chopra, Aliya Ismagilova, Chiara Manley, Grace Lozinski, Sophie Oestergaard, Shivani Soni, Julia Alexander and Tristan Pahl.

Well done team Latymer!
