Amongst the students celebrating with tears of joy and laughter were 13 bursary students who achieved a total of 106 A*s with four of them attaining a full house of 10 A*s. Ghaith, who joined us in Year 10 after fleeing from Syria, achieved excellent grades and looks forward to studying STEM subjects at A Level.
It was a particularly nail-biting start to the morning for the parents of our five sets of twins: the 10 students altogether achieved 84 A* grades with sisters Emma and Rachel celebrating a clean sweep. Congratulations and thanks go to all of our supportive parents.
One group of talented students not able to pick up their results this morning were the actors and musicians at the Edinburgh Fringe performing Made in Dagenham to rave reviews. When the curtain went down on the morning’s performance, three members of the band were delighted to hear that they had achieved 29 A*s between them; congratulations Ozan, Isaac and Charlie!
Latymer Upper Head, David Goodhew commented, "Congratulations to our GCSE students for their outstanding set of results. I am very proud that, as well as achieving top academic grades, many of our students have become accomplished debaters, musicians, actors, scientists and sportsmen & women and contributed to a whole host of clubs and societies at the School. I look forward to following their progress in the Sixth Form as they continue to pursue their academic and extra-curricular passions.”
