Latymer Upper School’s PPG was set up because parents of pupils at School enjoyed their association with the School and other parents, and wanted to maintain those links after their son or daughter had left.
The group aims to promote and maintain such contacts, support the work of the School, reinforce links with Old Latymerians and to keep past parents informed of the school news and events.
After a two year lapse, due to changes in the Development Office the PPG was revived in June 2009 through the efforts and enthusiasm of Jane Dickenson and Annabel McGinley, parents of Rupert and Sean (2008).
It was decided that the Parents of 2007 and 2008 would be approached to attend the initial event held at School on the 26th June. This event proved very popular and it was generally agreed that all former parents from 2002, when the new Head started, should be approached to join. This number is about 560 parents. We do already have parents from outside these years who will remain part of the group. Other years can, if they wish, also join the group.
To help with the school administration of the group we are looking for representatives to help co-ordinate each year. We envisage a system very much like the Parents’ Gild, with two representatives and two deputies. We would hold termly meetings with this group who would then report back to their Year Groups. If you are interested then please complete the form on the back of the reply form and return to Adwoa.
Although there is no charge for joining the group, each event that we organise will be self-financing.
