The School Library

The brand new Library and Resources Centre is housed at the heart of the School in the recently opened Science and Library building. The Library is open to all students, for private study and reading, as well as for research purposes.
The Library is open from 08:00 – 18:00 every school day. It is staffed by two full-time professional librarians and two part-time library assistants.
Library Philosophy
The library is a tranquil place of purposeful independent study. Reading for pleasure is also encouraged; a comfortable reading area is available. The library offers individuals a quiet alternative to social and common room areas.
Print and Electronic Resources
Resources are chosen to support the taught curriculum and recreational reading, as well as the independent learning and research needs of the students. The Library offers access to:
Students may borrow up to 5-10 items and can access the Library’s electronic resources - including the library catalogue, ebooks and all online subscription resources - from home.
Facilities
The Library offers over 100 silent study spaces, and ample access to networked PCs. Students are also welcome to use their own laptop in the Library. Two networked printers (one b/w, one colour) also serve as photocopiers and scanners for pupil use. A soft seating area provides a comfortable haven for quiet reading.
