The Library is temporarily housed in the large area that was formerly occupied by the Main Hall and Sixth-Form Common Room. It is divided into two sections - the Study Area and the Resource Area.

The Study Area accommodates about 80 working spaces for the purpose of private study and reading. The Library enquiry point and service counter, audio-visual resources, and a small proportion of the bookstock are also contained here.
It is maintained and supervised as a silent area throughout the day, and is the main base for sixth-form private study.

The Resource Area, entered via the Study Area, houses 90% of the books, as well as 14 desktop computers, colour printer, photocopier and newspaper & magazine racks. (10 laptop computers are also available for student use.

In addition to the computer workstations, a further 24 study spaces are available in this section.

The Library's Resources include approximately 20,000 books, collections of dvds, videos and audiobooks, a range of about 75 weekly and monthly magazines, and a selection of daily newspapers.
10 laptop computers are also available for use in any part of the Library.

Online subscriptions, archives and reference sources form an important part of the Library's provision, and these include World Book Encyclopedia, Oxford Reference Online, Newsbank (a national & local newspaper archive), New Scientist, Grove Art Online, Grove Music Online and History Today.

The Library Catalogue is available on-line on the school's intranet, and there is also a dedicated search terminal in the Resource Area. In addition to listing under author, title or subject keywords all the books and audio-visual resources of the Library, a special feature of our catalogue is the inclusion of website addresses under a huge range of subject categories.
