General Aims

Pupils enter Year 7 from Latymer Prep School and from a wide range of state junior schools and independent preparatory schools. Year 7 forms each have 22 - 24 pupils under the care and supervision of a form tutor. In this Year Group the pupils are taught all their subjects in form groups with no banding or streaming. They progress in the same forms through to the Year 8. Pupils joining Year 7 are, as far as possible, grouped according to their home addresses in order to help them settle in and travel with local friends.

The form tutors are responsible for the day-to-day care of pupils in their forms, looking after their individual needs and concerns. Particular emphasis is given to helping the pupils settle in, become more organised and become fully involved in the extra-curricular life of the School. Form tutors meet their forms twice a day at morning and afternoon registrations. They also have timetabled time for tutor periods and help to deliver the Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) Programme.

The Form Tutors are a key point of contact for parents and teachers.
