How do I donate my shares to Latymer?
In the first instance, contact Amanda Scott in the Development Office at Latymer Upper School on 0845 638 5965 to inform her of the name of the asset, the number of shares or units to be donated, and the approximate gift amount. Assets with a value of less than £10,000 may need to be donated via ShareGift.
You should also inform Amanda as to whether you hold the stock certificates or if the transfer will be done electronically. Once this has been established, BlackRock, who are Latymer’s brokers, can advise if a form is necessary (and, if so, which one).
Certificated Assets
1. Firstly, you will need to complete either a Crest or a Stock Transfer Form. The Registrar who acts for the company in which you have shares can provide this form. The name of the Registrar will be written at the bottom of your share certificate. Alternatively, print the blank Stock Transfer Form or the CREST Form, depending on which one is required, and return to Amanda Scott at Latymer Upper School (address below). You can also contact Amanda who will be happy to supply a form and a self-addressed envelope.
2. When completing the relevant Transfer Form, it is only necessary for the donor to complete the stock name, the amount of shares/units to be donated and sign where indicated. Charitable donations are exempt from Stamp Duty, and the reverse of the transfer form should be marked as exempt under category L and signed by the shareholder. Latymer’s stockbroker, BlackRock, will complete the remaining details needed on the form. The duly completed form will be required along with a share certificate or unit statement.
3. Please send the Transfer Form and share certificate/Unit statement together to:
Amanda Scott, Director of Development, Latymer Upper School, 236 King Street, London W6 9LR.
For certificated donations where only a partial transfer is taking place, a new share certificate/unit statement for the balance of shares/unit will be sent to the donor by the registrars/unit trust manager.
We strongly advise you to keep a copy of the Transfer Form as evidence of your gift.
Electronic transfers from nominee accounts
We are happy to accept assets transferred from your nominee account. If shares/units are registered in a Nominee account at an Investment Manager / Stockbroker, Latymer’s investment manager, BlackRock, will require a copy of a written instruction to the manager from the donor, requesting that they transfer stock to BlackRock.
If this is the case, the donor should provide their investment manager with the following details and please copy Greg Shanahan at BlackRock on all subsequent communications.

The manager will in turn contact Greg Shanahan who can then liaise regarding the transfer.
Corporate Nominees
An increasing number of Companies no longer issue certificates, but offer the option to hold the shares without a certificate, within what is called a Corporate Nominee account. Shareholders will be issued with a statement periodically, normally on a biannual basis, by the Registrars of the company.
Shares within a Corporate Nominee account can be transferred by completing special transfer forms, which can be obtained from the Registrars of the company.
Donate the Shares to ShareGift
