Admission to Latymer Upper School at 11+ (Year 7) is through a process of written examination and interview.  All pupils who are registered prior to the deadline will be invited to sit the written examination which covers English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning.  

THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF 11+ REGISTRATIONS FOR 2009 ENTRY IS 21ST NOVEMBER 2008.  The entrance examination for 2009 entry will be held on WEDNESDAY 14TH JANUARY. Pupils who do well in the exam will be invited to return for an interview.  The interviews are usually scheduled for Saturdays in early February.  Interviews cover questions in Maths and English along with those of a more general nature.  Offer letters are sent out in mid-February and families have approximately two weeks to accept or refuse Latymer's offer of admission.   Those who accept the offer will be asked to confirm that they have not accepted an offer from another school and to return a non-refundable £1,000 confirmation deposit.

Financial Support

There are three kinds of financial support available for those entering at 11+:

• Means tested scholarships, which can be up to 100% of fees, are awarded based on a combination of academic excellence and family circumstances.  Parents requesting a means-tested place will be asked to complete a Confidential Statement of Financial Circumstances.  Following the exams and interview, and prior to any award being made, a home visit may be conducted.
  
• Academic Scholarships are awarded strictly on academic excellence and are not means-tested. There is no separate scholarship exam for academic scholars, but there are specific scholarship interviews. Parents need not apply for academic scholarships; the applicants are identified through performance on the entrance examinations.
  
• Scholarships in music and exhibitions in art, drama, music and sport are also available and are not means-tested.  Scholarships offer up to 50% fee reduction. To register, click here for a Registration Form.  Please complete both sides of the form in full and return it, along with a £75 registration fee, a recent passport sized photograph of the child, and a copy of the child’s birth certificate. A copy of the summer school report for Year 5 will also be required. Latymer will request a confidential reference from your child’s current school in December of the year prior to entry.
