Sport at Latymer is very participative and highly successful. We offer a wide variety of opportunities at all levels: from first team excellence to recreational clubs. Our Physical Education programme promotes a positive attitude towards active, healthy living and high participation levels are the norm.
The Physical Education Department offers a huge range of activities and an extensive competitive fixture list. Senior teams compete at a very high level, and enjoy trips to exciting overseas destinations to play their sport. A number of our top sportsmen and women have been selected for national teams in all areas.
Here in King Street, our Sports Hall has markings for a wide range of sports (badminton, basketball, and cricket nets to name but a few). We have pitches for netball on site, as well as a fitness suite, 25 metre swimming pool, and a Boat House right on the Thames which houses 30 world class boats. Our playing fields at Wood Lane provide magnificent facilities for football, rugby, netball, cricket and hockey. Wood Lane is used by the All Blacks, Wallabies, Springboks and Pumas for all training when based in London. They offer an extensive grass playing area with built-in irrigation providing 4 rugby pitches for the autumn term, 4 football pitches for the spring term and 3 cricket squares in the summer term, a floodlit, rubber-based astroturf surface for football, hockey and netball.
