GCSE CURRICULUM
In Years 10 and 11 pupils are taught for 44 periods a week and will select which subjects they wish to add to their core for GCSE examination. (This choice is made during Year 9.) Pupils regularly take 10, and may in some cases take up to 13 GCSE subjects. The core consists of:

Maths and French GCSEs are taken in Year 10 by the most able pupils. The options consist of the following subjects and each is taught for four periods per week. Each pupil may choose four.
- Art Design Technology
- Drama German, Spanish or Italian (as second or third languages)
- Geography
- Greek History
- Latin Music
- Religious Studies
During the two GCSE years, field trips and visits take place in Sciences, Geography, Design Technology, Art, Religious Studies and History. There are language exchanges to Nantes, Lyons and Frankfurt and a Spanish language trip to Salamanca.
In addition, Year 10 pupils spend Tuesday afternoons on Games:

Year 11 spend Wednesday afternoons on Games with the Sixth Form and select from a very wide range of sports and activities, ranging from rugby, football, netball and cricket, to squash, golf, rock climbing and Community Service.
