REGISTRATION FOR 2019 is now closed
Every year we welcome around 30 students from all backgrounds and schools to join our Sixth Form which is enriched by the valuable contribution that they bring. The specialism of the A Level course will allow you to explore in depth the subjects you feel most passionate about and the small group sizes lead to lively discussion and tailored learning. The personal and intellectual confidence you’ll develop through more independent study in a fully co-educational environment will help prepare you for University life both in the UK and Abroad.
Entry to the Sixth Form at Latymer Upper School is through personal statement, school report and confidential school reference with selected candidates being invited for interview on a Saturday in late November. Offers are made in early December.
Candidates are interviewed by a member of the Senior Management Team and senior subject staff. Candidates who are successful at interview will be made individual offers tailored to their proposed programme of study in the Sixth Form.
We would expect all our Sixth Form applicants, if studying GCSEs, to achieve a minimum of 8 or 9 GCSEs including Mathematics and English with grades A*/A or 9/8/7 in the subjects that they wish to study in the Sixth Form, or in a related subject where the proposed course is in a new subject.
The range of subjects on offer in the Sixth Form is wide, embracing all the core subjects along with a number of other choices such as the Extended Project, History of Art, Politics, Philosophy, Greek, Economics, Classical Civilisation and Photography. Further information on all courses is available in the Sixth Form Choices Booklet
Our Sixth Form programme is innovative and intellectually challenging. Our students work hard, but they also make the most of the wealth of extra-curricular activities on offer here at Latymer Upper.
