Former Parents

Parents of former Latymer pupils are most welcome to many of the events at Latymer including concerts, plays and exhibitions; also on offer are talks and museum and gallery visits lead by specialists in the relevant field including current or former teachers and alumni. Examples of recent events can be found here, details of upcoming events here, and sports fixtures here

A recent event held in our theatre - “Alan Rickman: Director & Playwright” focused on his love for theatre. The programme included excerpts from the play he authored, “My Name is Rachel Corrie”. Excerpts were performed by two current students and a former student, the acclaimed actress Ophelia Lovibond (Class of 2004). This was followed by a Q&A with one of Britain's most sought after stage directors, Ian Rickson, and Elyse Dodgson, the current International Director of the Royal Court Theatre, and moderated by BBC 4’s Kirsty Lang, herself the mother of a Latymerian.

Former Parent Evening Classes 2016-2017

These very popular evening classes for former Latymer parents are running again for the academic year 2017/2018. This is the seventh year we are offering the chance to dive into a subject that interests you. The classes are run by some of Latymer’s most experienced and popular teachers and are in small groups with the emphasis on learning in a relaxed environment, and no homework!

Places are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis and courses can fill up quickly. A course usually last for one term and the cost includes wine, soft drinks and snacks. Participants meet in the Latymer Staff Lounge at around 6.30pm and classes are from 7 to 8.30pm in nearby classrooms. Twelve week courses are £220 and ten week courses £190. All profits go to supporting Latymer’s means tested bursary programme.
